Gold sheen obsidian is most often found in Mexico and its gold sheen is naturally formed! Black obsidian is actually volcanic glass and forms when lava cools quickly. The goldsheen occurs when gas bubbles appear on the surface of the lava and are trapped when it cools! I mean seriously, nature is magical all on its on.

Metaphysically speaking gold sheen obsidian is good for rituals revolving around self reflection and the release of ego, creating space for deep healing. It also can be used for scrying (divinatory work) and as it is in the shape of a crescent, for any moon cycle based rituals. Like with all obsidian, it corresponds to the root chakra and is great for protection and absorbing negative energy.
